I spend a lot of time listening to women talk about their STYLE, some know exactly who they are and what they want to project to the world.

And some only know who they used to be.

I have discovered that like life, our needs and circumstances are forever changing and so too, do we change and grow.

The key is to keep up with your evolving self, there is no right or wrong.

So because our needs are changing, so must our wardrobes.

WHERE DOES A GAL START?

O.K grab a pen and write down the answers to the following –

1.What three words best describe YOU? – Mine are FUN, LOUD & HONEST  – so lots of pieces in my wardrobe help me express exactly who I am. I have a lot of FUN, LOUD clothing and I wear with pride because I am sharing the honest me.

2. What suits my body shape? Dressing to compliment your shape is the key. Every one of us is unique, so even though you may fall into one of the body types, such as Hourglass, Triangle, Inverted Triangle etc you also have to way in your bust size and your height! Yes I know its confusing, so think of it this way. Choose cuts, and tailoring to showcase the body parts you want and camouflage the bits you don’t want to showcase. Its important to remember that details and accessaries will draw the eye to that area. So if you want to minimise your bust line, do not wear a necklace that sits on that area, because it is exactly where the eye will go. If your top half is smaller than your bottom half – look at wearing patters and bright colours on top, you can also add volume to your top half, by this I mean ruffles or off shoulder styles – this will balance out your bottom half. Keep the bottom half block colours and simple tailored cuts.

If your shape is the reverse  and your top is half is larger than your bottom half, just keep the pattern and volume on the bottom.

3. What are my needs i.e. How many days am I in Work Wear ?  Casual wear?  Do I have any Special Events coming up? What colours do I feel good in.

Your answers to the above questions are your INDIVIDUAL ingredients to your new STYLE RECIPE! Add a side dish of confidence and you have the new YOU!

It’s important to check in from time to time to see …. and ask yourself, does my wardrobe represent my BEST SELF?
